We had good weather this year, but the wind was either too high or too low to fly the big octopus kite. What a disappointment! Archie Stewart, a kite workshop organizer and all round kite flier joined us this year. Penny Lingenfelter entertained the kites with her amazing kite routines. She even brought her husband Steve with her! The kids from Cancun Pro Kids once again enjoyed flying their own kites, which they made ahead of time and brought to the festival. Thanks to the staff of Perico’s, who provided the children with a delicious lunch!

“This year the Isla Blanca Kite festival was bigger and better than ever. Over $700.00 was raised for Cancun Pro Kids (Formerly La Casita) An orphanage for children in Cancun. This does not seem like much, but it will go a long way. Next year we hope to raise more. Come join us on the last Sat and Sunday of Feb 2015. The festival is from 11AM till 4PM. It is free and open to the public.”
